The Principles of Negotiation Skills programme has been designed to enhance the skills of managers and employees to negotiate win/win outcomes for situations of conflicting interests, both internally and commercially. These skills can make a major impact upon the overall long-term effectiveness of organisations operating in the challenging environment of a changing South Africa. The programme uses a successful learning design which generates and maintains a high level of interest and excitement by totally involving participants in practical activities related to negotiating.
Each participant receives accurate feedback on the precise nature and extent of their skills that enables them to focus upon those skills that need development or fine-tuning and to track their progress after training.
The programme deals with the need and scope of negotiation processes and it introduces the concept of differentiated negotiation behaviours and how to initiate, respond to, and use these behaviours to the advantage of the skilled negotiator. A conversational diagnostic is conducted which enables learners to close the self-perception gap by providing individual behavioural profiles.
